The Wow Factor

We are dedicated to solving even the most challenging projects

The Wow Factor of the Roman Lime™ Products

Having surveyed over 4,000 old and heritage properties all over UK in the last decade only, the surveyors of Core Conservation noticed some recurring, common problems without conservation-friendly solutions.

Dampness related problems were by far the least understood ones, and for listed basements there were literally no lasting lime-based  solutions. Insulating old buildings was a similarly difficult area with not too many conservation-friendly options.

Our team didn’t stop searching till satisfactory answers were found to the typical heritage building  problems, ticking all the boxes of the British conservation guidelines.

All roads led to Rome once again, and our initiative of introducing great lime-based solutions to the industry was well received, and acknowledged by the numerous industry awards that we won over the years.

Mr Naldo Busato

CEO of MGN, MASTER CRAFTSMAN

Meet Our Adviser

While doing our own doctorate research with The University of Strathclyde, we have been learning skills and knowledge from Mr Naldo Busato is a Venetian Building Restoration Master Craftsman, the last link of a multi-generation guild tradition of Venice. Leading researcher of Roman Architecture and Roman building materials.

He is the Managing Director of MGN and its 5 production plants. We will frequently update you on the magnificent skills we learn from him, picking them up bit by bit, in the blog section

Rebuilding Teatro La Fenice

And here is what we learnt

Frankly, the answer is not simply ‘Use lime!’; there are two more questions to answer correctly:

Which lime product is the best for the purpose?

How to use it?

The lime plaster mixes and other products in the webshop are absolutely suitable to Listed Buildings, were purpose built for typical hard-to-overcome building conservation, restoration problems, tested and proven excellent on the world heritage sites of Venice (6000+ Listed buildings in the last 30 years), Pompeii, etc.  Our Building conservation specialists – led by Val and Mick below – are always glad to share the knowledge and skills.

Hope you will be one of our happy clients, too

You don’t meet people with such a work ethic, very often. They knew their product and what it was all about. We were amazed how polite they were, they didn’t hurry, they were very professional at what they did.
